In PV plant operation and maintenance, accurate detection of internal cell defects (such as micro-cracks, broken grid fingers,碎片, cold soldering, etc.) is critical to ensure power generation efficiency and plant safety. Traditional EL inspection relies heavily on nighttime operation, resulting in long cycles, high costs, and safety risks for personnel. Vision Potential has broken these limitations with its Drone Daylight EL Inspection System SC-DEL-Drone.
Daylight EL inspection refers to the ability to perform electroluminescence (EL) imaging on PV modules under daylight or high-ambient-light conditions. The SC-DEL-Drone adopts advanced strong-light suppression and constant-current control modules, enabling operation in sunny, cloudy, daytime, and nighttime conditions – truly all-weather EL inspection that significantly shortens inspection cycles.
The drone daylight EL inspection system uses the DJI Matrice 400 industrial drone as its flight platform, with a single flight endurance of up to 55 minutes, covering MW‑scale PV plants quickly. It carries Vision Potential’s self-developed DEL payload, featuring full auto-focus, high-speed wireless transmission, and constant-current power control (0–15A adjustable, 0–60V adjustable). It can accurately identify micro-cracks, broken grid fingers,碎片,烧结, cold soldering, over-etching, low-efficiency cells, mixed grades, and more, with detection accuracy of crack width > 50μm and imaging accuracy better than 0.1mm/pixel.
All-Weather Operation: No need to wait for nighttime – work in sunny, cloudy, or daytime conditions.
Strong Light Adaptability: Obtain high-quality EL images even under direct sunlight.
Wide Detection Scope: Suitable for centralized, distributed, rooftop, plateau, desert, hilly, and other environments. Compatible with monocrystalline (PREC, TOPCON, BC, N-type) and polycrystalline modules, including severely damaged non-powered modules.
Safe and Efficient: Avoids nighttime field risks (wild animals, low temperatures) and replaces manual high-altitude/high-risk work. Inspect up to 800 modules at night / 100–600 modules during daytime per flight.
Low Deployment Cost: Detachable DEL payload supports drone rental or self-owned drones, significantly reducing inspection costs.
Plant Module Inspection: Centralized/distributed plants in deserts, plateaus, rooftops, hills, etc.
Incoming Material Inspection: Fast screening of defective modules before warehouse entry, preventing poor-quality modules from entering the plant.
Vision Potential’s drone EL plant inspection solution has been successfully deployed in multiple MW‑scale PV plants, helping O&M personnel escape tedious, repetitive low-value work, automating power industry workflows, and effectively reducing LCOE and operational risks.
Choose Vision Potential’s Drone Daylight EL Inspection System – a all-weather, high-precision, high-safety intelligent inspection solution for PV plants. From silicon wafers to modules, from incoming materials to O&M, Vision Potential protects every kilowatt-hour of green power with technological innovation.
